Resolved Can't install iTunes on my new 64b win7 PC

I tried every way like trying to install old iTunes versions but at the end the last
answer is that it can't be installed because some program called Apple Application Support is not present.
Has anybody found the same problem?
What is ridiculus is that to manage my iPad i must continue to use my old XP
based PC ! If you can help, I'll be grateful.Paolo from Rome, Italy.

Hi Paolo. For your iTunes problem take a look at this thread, iTunes won't uninstall / reinstall.

If following the steps in that thread don't help fix your iTunes issue then follow these instructions below.

After you remove iTunes make sure you delete the folders in the following directories:

C:\Program Files\Bonjour
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files\iTunes\
C:\Program Files\iPod\
C:\Program Files\QuickTime\
C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR

Since you have the 64-bit version of Windows, you will need to confirm that the following folders have been removed as well.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\
C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\QuickTime
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\QuickTimeVR
C:\ProgramData\Apple\Installer Cache

Empty your Temp file directory:

1. Choose Start < Computer
2. In Computer, open the "C:" drive.
3. Open the Users folder.
4. Double-click the folder titled with your username.
5. If you see an AppData folder, skip to step 10. If you don't see an AppData folder, proceed to the next step.
6. Choose Organize < Folder and Search Options.
7. Click the View tab.
8. Select the option to "Show hidden files and folders." (In Windows 7 this option will be called "Show hidden files, folders, and drives ").
9. Click OK.
10. Double-click the AppData folder to open it. If Windows needs your permission to continue click Continue.
11. Double-click the Local folder to open it.
12. Right-click on the Temp folder and choose Delete.
13. In the confirmation dialog that appears click Yes.
14. If you are unable to delete the Temp folder, close all programs, especially those in the Notification area ( "System Tray ") of the Windows Task bar and repeat step 12.

Restart the computer, then attempt to re-install iTunes and Quicktime and see if they install.

I did it and it worked. You have to delete from your PC any reference to APPLE, everywhere
Afretwords you can install it anew. Thanks a lot
