    Hi,

I am using an Acer Aspire laptop with Win7 and have just noticed when I go into Computer and bring up Hard Drives I find C and Q.

C is a yes but where on earth Q has just come from I cannot discover.
Only one shows up in Device Manager which is correct.

Check the Properties of Q - it may tell you something.

Also check in Disk Management for the partition info of your hard disk.

Some software may make a virtual or temporary drive (physical drives should show up as the next available drive letter).

Considering the above, do you have any card readers on the laptop or maybe on a printer?

It's unlikely to have been Malware (viri, trojans, worms etc). If it does reappear the disk label is likely to give you a clue as to the cause ;)
