Is anybody else having trouble with FAcebook on Firefox 6? Facebook loads just fine on IE, but for the last week the top half of the screen is blank on Firefox. I have to scroll down to see anything.

Most likely one of your add-ons. No problems on my comps with FB & FF.

In any event it helps to give information about whicj operating system is used, if attempts were made to disable addons, etc.
For the longest time a friend had problems with Firefox hanging. So, he thought that it was a Firefox problem. I told him to try IE, and it was hanging, too.
At the last report it seems to be a conflict of the latest version of a plugin in that particular OS (Win 7).

Thanks for the input, people. My OS is Windows 7, but I thought this forum showed that. Maybe I need to re-enter it on my profile.
I'm off to cataract surgery right now, but I'll check on the add-ons when I can.

It does not show. Compare your reply with mine. My system shows up right under my answer. Go to User CP(top toolbar)|Edit Signature. A preview should show if we have something entered. If not, fill in the box below.
There is a possibility that there is a conflict between Flash(latest version only) and Win 7, but you should have problems with any browser. The symptom is hanging, not something missing.

    Thank you, Westside

Thank you, Westside. I checked, and what showed under My System is my old computer. I've made the changes now under My System.

Still haven't solved the Firefox 6/Facebook problem, though.

I have learned something new. How did you gwt the My System info to show up. All this time, I have been making changes in Edit Signature, because you can list the different programs which I use.
Anyway, I hope that your surgery will work. I had a detached retina three years ago, and after reattaching it, that eye developed an incredible cataract. It was fixed, but my vision at night is affected.

    Eye sight

Oooo, bummer! Sorry about that! But I guess you're lucky you're not blind, 'cause a detached retina is very serious, right?
Well, that cataract surgery yesterday went like clockwork, and today I'm fine. Everything is really bright, though!

P.S. Almost forgot to tell you where the My System stuff goes. User CP, just like you told me. Then Edit System or something like that. You'll see it.

What are you doing in front of the computer ? You should be resting & not using computer/watching TV for at least a day or two.

    Thank you rsinfo

Well, thank you, rsinfo, for caring - and I know you're right that I shouldn't be here, but nothing hurts, so I must be OK, right? Just to be safe, though, I think I'll get off this bright screen and go read a book. Reading is OK, right?

Meanwhile, you guys still haven't told me how to fix my Facebook/Firefox problem. I don't think it has anything to do with add-ons, by the way. I checked the few that I have, and they're all up-to-date. No problems there that I can tell.
    Any more suggestions?

    1. I know about "Edit System" in CP, but nothing shows up under my name.
As for your Facebook issue I mentioned that some people had problems with Flash in Win 7, and that all browsers were affected. Did you try to log in Facebook from IE?

    Facebook and IE

Yes, Westside, it works fine in IE.
And you're right, nothing shows up under your name. You have to click on My System to see it. So maybe putting it in a signature is a good idea.

I had cataract surgery. It's amazing isn't it. Just make sure you wear your eye patch when you are ready to go to sleep at night..

After you enter your system details and save it, you must then go to Edit Options and select to display your system details or not.

    For lj50 and TonyT

Yes, lj50, I am wearing my "colander" at night. It's a bit of a nuisance, but guess I'd better follow the doctor's orders, right? I'm LOVING my new eyesight, already. I had complained that the text was really hard to read on my new computer, but now I see it was just my poor eyesight. Everything is totally easy to read now. Good thing I didn't complain to the manufacturer, I guess.

And TonyT? I went to Edit Options, and I see I have "Yes" to display my system info, but doesn't this (below) mean that it only shows if you click on "My System? "

"Would you like to show other members your computer specifications? This will be displayed in your posts via a drop down menu for other members to view. Add your system specifications in your User Control Panel Edit System Specs.
    System Specifications: "

    Tony T,
that one got away from me among lines and lines of stuff. And, I had to scroll down to System Specifications and change the default No to Yes.
And to Aks, certainly you have to click on My System to see what you have, but, personally, I think that it is not an useful feature, because you show only as much as you care to enter, and I had not bothered to even look in that section. I have a lot of blanks!
