Okay everyone this is an epic story of stupidity and desperation.
The morale of the story is backup before trying anything.

Okay I HAD windows XP Pro and wanted ot dual boot with windows 98. SO I opened partition magic and set up the new partition, set it actove installed 98 (thigns were ogign great)
set everything up and it was fine.

When I switched back to XP i was ruined. It would not start and for the ages that I had had XP I had never seen a blue screen.
I had a problem 4 months of coursework, pictures and webpage projects were under XP. My Win98 partition was FAT32 and cannot see my three Windows XP NTFS partitions. One NTFS for just windows XP O/S nothing else. The other was for all my program files and my documents and the other for movies/music/downloads.

I was still not paniked. I thought I could just wipe the XP O/S NTFS format and then put XP back on again. I just did this everything looks great works fine I can see all my drives. On the second NTFS format all the programs work fine, but I cannot access the my documents folder. I think it is cause I had the folder set to be exclusively read by My old XP account.

I get the error....' Access Denied'......So the files are there I just can't get them I tried playing with the recovery console and got no luck. Everything works fine my system dual boots but i RELALY need these files.....If anyone can offer a suggestion I would be really, really grateful.

    Thanx guys.......remember, BACK UP.

Ok Biz.. Snatch hee hee hee

    I could not help it!

It is always on my mind.

    Well back to work!

Are you logging on as administrator??? How did you log on in the other installation!

If Administrator can not get in then it sounds as if when you set the access you restricted Administrator and Administrators and limited access to a single specfic user! Tsk tsk tsk!!!!!!

For a start you need to create another user in this install that has the same (exact same) name and password as was on the other XP installation!

If there were more than 1 possibility then create those also! Then log on as each of these and try to open the folder.

Forgot the username and passwords. Uh oh!

There are some more esoteric ways but try the above first.
