I've removed and re-installed NS 7 several times before I found instructions for clean install which also referred me to this list, thanks Ramona.

NS 7 seems to be working EXCEPT it won't retain my new created profiles, etc. When starting up the next time, I have to create new profiles (if I enter the previous one, it tells me it already exists, but it's not in the profile manager) and I go through the registration EVERY time.

Can some share a solution for this, thanks, Cyn
BTW, my previous post --when I hit the submit button, I got the error that I wasn't logged in and my message wasn't posted. Gonna copy this one :O)

    Welcome to the Forum, cynindesign!

    Hi cynindesign,

Glad you found us here on the Netscape Forum!

Once you've established more than one profile, the Profile Manager opens every time you launch Netscape. Use this command line to open the Profile of your choice:

    With Netscape closed:
    Right click your Desktop Icon
    Select Properties
in the Target Location, which will be similar to this:
    "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\Netscp.exe"

Add this command, allowing one space between the end of the target and the command:
    -P profilename
It will look similar to this:
    "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\Netscp.exe" -P cynindesign

If this works for you, then after a few days, I would consider deleting the other Profiles which you no longer use. But first..... Back up your working Profiles Folder.

Check out this COMMAND LINE OPTIONS List for adding additional command lines.

    HTH,

    Ramona :D

Thanks Ramona, HEY THAT WORKED!!! It was so-o-o-o-o frustrating! I must have re registered 10 times yesterday. I had to change the directory, it was using the windows\application data\mozilla...... something like that. The odd part was the profiles were there, but it couldn't see them. Is this an isolated incident, if not why haven't they fixed it?

Seems to me if they want people to register.......they got some fixin to do. I'm an old Netscaper before I started having too many email addys that I had to go to Outlook. I was running 4.8 but I couldn't find it in the download section, I used ftp protocol to go look in the public domain, 4.8 version didn't look right for windows so I moved to 7.0. I really like it!

    Thanks for your help, Cyn:cool:

Oh, forgot to tell you, I tried to post numerous times and every time I did, it would kick me out and ask me to login every time I turned around. Arie, knew it was a setting somehow. I'm using IE 6.0.2800.1106 serv. pack 1. FINALLY I looked at the cookie option and saw I could add a URL and that was a fix. I was beginning to seem like Ammityville :O)

    Hi Cyn,

So glad to hear the good news! Netscape 7.01 is due out any day now, so keep an eye out. There will be an improved popup killer in this Version, plus the Privacy bug fix.
