Resolved Windows Updates want to repeatedly install

    I have read the other posts on problems with windows updates and I did what was suggested and nope it did not help. I can download the updates and they install into the computer but they do not appeared to be accepted as I keep getting the yellpw update shield whci says that I have updates to install but I'VE ALREADY INSTALLED THEM REPEATEDLY :mad:
    What is going on so i did the suggestions and now I can't update because it says 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
    You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

    What have I done wrong this time????

    Find error codes associated with the failing update in the WindowsUpdate.log.

    To open this log, go to Start > Run and type

    %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log

    and press OK.

    Or - Post the last 75-100 lines in a reply here.

    Absent any errors in your windowsupdate.log, you may be seeing a delay caused by excessive demand on the servers. It can take up to 7 days for all Automatic Update users to get new updates when so many have been released (22 last Tuesday).

    "During periods of heavy download traffic, the Automatic Updates service can reschedule download requests on a day-to-day basis. This rescheduling can occur over several days. "
    Thanks for that info Arie.It sure would be nice if Microsoft would post that . It would save a lot of aggravation for many.

    The problem is that they are downloading and installing but the yellow shield is still there and the same updates are waiting to be installed. They are not being accpeted by the computer.

    Thanks for all your help. I have tried several times to load the updates but have now given up. They are logged as being installed but windows updates thinks otherwise.
