Now back to my starting situation. Try again.

I am using Office 97. This includes the Access program, which I use heavily for my genealogical business and which underpins a database application involving many tables and driven by macros. I have purchased a copy of Office 2000 - because it was written down in price and contains the Publisher program which I now need.

As may have been spotted in an earlier topic, I tried to install only the Publisher program but succeeded only in confusing my existing Office installation and causing grief to the Access program.

Can anyone advise me how to install the Publisher program from Office 2000 as a stand alone entity which does not conflict with Office 97? Both Office disks are legitimate and I have full ID codes for them.

The only way to install Publisher - is early on during the install - Select CUSTOM Install - UNselect all other applications.

Office 2000 is ancient (released 12 years ago!) and extended support ended in July 2009.

Why don't you use Publisher 2007?
