    dO YOU advice me to format the laptop and install new win 7 on it? i have win 7 professional

    Am just afraid how to get the antivirus back activation key back. Because the laptop comes with one year antivirus.

    According to Microsoft you can upgrade 7 Pro to Ultimate using Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade ....

    Windows 7 Upgrade Paths

    An upgrade should not affect programs that are already on the computer.

    I suggest you look at the relative costs of an Any Time Upgrade vs purchasing an English version of Win 7 Pro and making a clean install.

    Your current antivirus could well be replaced with a free antivirus - I would suggest Microsoft Security Essentials - antivirus & anti spyware.

    I have win 7 pro here with me. I dont know if Any Time Upgrade will be free, if it not free than mean i will format it and reload with win 7 pro. But can i do back-up driver with this language that i cannot understand.

    Any Time Upgrade is not Free :(

    A backup will not be of much use to you except for Data - your files, not Program Files.

    In your AV look under Help > About - the key may be shown there.

    I would not be to concerned about losing your 1 yr subscription to an av - the free ones are generally just as good, sometimes better :)

    I would have copy all the driver and recovery this on this laptop but i cannot understand any languange here.

    To download the drivers is another problem. I will come back to you. right now am thinking to format it and install new win 7 pro on it.

    Do it mean i cannot use the cd key on win 7 pro to upgrade? i click on it just now it showing manything that i cannot understand. I think it suppose to possible by that way

    Check your User folder for the antivirus license key. Symantec puts it there. Others may too.

    I think a clean install is the best route - is the CD a full retail copy or an upgrade CD?

    I am away now for a week and have asked others to assist in this thread.

    The license key should also be visible in the program itself. Check in Help or About or Info. There may even be a menu link somewhere called "license ". Write it down on paper.

    What AV program is it anyway?

    I have re-format the laptop using win 7 pro. Am just trying to get the drivers online. I have download Microsoft Security Essentials as Petec gave me. I will come back again if i resolve issue.
