Go to each computer and make sure that all the clocks are showing the correct time. If the clocks are not synchronized, the HomeGroup feature will not work. If your computer is connected to the Internet, it should automatically pick up the correct time.

In order for this to work, you also must have the Windows Time Service set to started and automatic. Also, go to clock > Change data & time settings > Internet time and verify both computers are using the same time server.

Make sure that not only are time and date set correctly, but the Time zone as well.

Login to your router via the Web browser. What brand & model # router do you have?

Well, something is not right, otherwise you won't be receiving the error.

Windows 7 defaults to PST time zone. You need to set the Time zone to your time zone first. Then adjust the time and date to your local time/date.
