    Greetings,

I am not able to print the border at the bottom of the page. I thought the Windows BBs Search utility would return some results but none were returned. Is this a unique problem?

Using MS Word 2000 and selecting page borders, the border at the bottom of the page consistently will not print.

My printer is a Lexmark Z52 which is suppoesed to print to within .25 inches of the edge of the page. I get a 1/4 inch border on the top, left and right side borders.

    any ideas anyone?

I've run across this problem at work when using one particular printer. Regardless of what the printer is "supposed" to do, it doesn't print the bottom line of the page border. Just go into Borders and Shading Options and set the border to be a few more points from the edge of the page and it should work.

That will not solve it i am afraid. However, your response to my querry promted me to look again to see if there were not some button to be pushed, some item to be checked that would allow me access to adjust the border. And there was, thanks to you.

You see, I did not believe the non printing border was the fault of the printer. Print preview also displayed a half view of the lower border regardless of how far the margins were set from the edge of the page, and therein lay a solution.

In fiddling around I made the following steps: Baorders and Shading--> Page border--> Options.

Next on the Borders and Shading Options Dialogue box, in the "Measure from" drop down box select "text ". This sets the text as the reference for the border as opposed to the edge of the page.

This is a great fix but not a solution to my problem. While it allows me to manipulate the border so that it adjusts to a printable location on the page. I do not yet have the ability to print borders to within a quarter inch of the edge of the page.

with out borders, my printer will print text to the quarter inch line on the page.

    :)

Try this go to Format -> Borders & Shading, then at the bottom of the right hand side of that dialog box there is a button "Options" click on it and in the new dialog box there is an option to 'measure the text from' change that option. This should fix your problem.
