Hi, We seem to have no sound from on line video's etc , it will play music from the PC so that part seems Ok , also has lost the Windows sounds.
Any hints on things to check please , it seems the sound icon is missing from the task bar, but going into the sounds in Control panel, it say's there is no sound system, ?
The unit has been recently dusted and cleaned ( outside ) but all the connections etc seem OK.
seeing it will play music etc , seems to be internal.
    Thanks in advance.
    Des

Try going to device manager and see if the sound device is listed. If so, remove it, then reboot. Windows should auto-detect the device and load its drivers.

Hi Tony, I did as you suggested and still nothing , then I looked in my PC and saw there was a selection box ( under audio) so went back and checked wifes ( XP the same as mine) and there it was , just selected it and we were good,
Only thing is that the sound seems tinnier? a bit high pitched / squeaky or seems to be , I have checked all the settings I can find but I can't find any bass or treble settings.
    Any suggestions./
Thanks for you earlier advice .
    Cheers Des.:)
