How do I stop Seamonkey 2.2 from trying to compact Mail folders every time I launch MAIL?

I downloaded SM 2.2 this morning and when I opened MAIL for the first time a few minutes ago a pop-up box appeared containing a checkbox with a check already in it, asking something to the effect of whether I wished to not have MAIL condense all folders each time. I left it checked.

If you close and then reopen MAIL, does that checkbox appear for you? That should enable you to control MAIL's behavior to your liking.

I saw the same box over and over all day long. I did a folder compact late last night and I didn't see it this morning yet.

It is a guess on my part, because I don't have your settings. If you go to Edit|Preferences|Mail and Newsgroups|Network and Storage, at the very bottom you will see a check box, next to Disk Space. It is set to compact when a certain amount of space is saved. I don't know what was the original amount, but I set it at 20 MB, which I would never reach, and I am never prompted. Unless there is something else funny, just change the value to a high number. Unchecking the box should work, as well.
I compact my folders, even twice a day, so, I doubt that I would run into trouble.

Mine has always been set at 20MB and no earlier version has ever set an alert. I think every half hour is overkill. Since I did a folder compact, it went away.
