Using IE 8 and if I add Google to the favorites after a few days it disappears from the list. I have added it as a seperate item under "Favorites" and also under "Search Directory" same result. I don't think I am using "Google Chrome ".
I have checked for malware, virus and other irritants. I also have emptied the "Temp Files ".
I do not have any Google etc tool bars. It appears that IE 8 has its own search bar at the top called "Live Search" which I don't use or want on my top tool bar. How can I get rid of it?

    Thank you for your help.

Do you have more then one Windows user profiles?

When you add the favorite again do you get asked about replacing the exisiting one?

You don't have to download IE7 and install it. Go to Control Panel and Add or Remove programs and remove IE8 and it will revert back to IE7.

Thank you I will let you know if that works. Sorry for my delay in answering but connection problems, they are working on the DSL line somewhere and cutting me off.

I have now installed IE 6 I would guess I never installed IE 7. Will let you know if the Google URL remains in favorites.
