Leave that Java alone. Possibly registry leftover.

    Positives

No more errors with Windows Explorer.
No redirecting from Google or anywhere else.
    Firefox moves noticeably faster.

    Negatives

"Windows Advanced Network has stopped working" error message after log in [been getting this message for a while, definitely before the clean-up]
"Java (TM) Update Scheduler has stopped working" error message after log in [only been getting this one since I updated Java]

^ I have not knowingly encountered any issues as a direct result of those 2 programs not working, though I do not know what they do in the first place so...

I believe this is solely Dell service and it should be safe to disable it.
Go Start and in "Start search" type in:
    services.msc
    Press Enter.
Find Windows Advanced Network service, right click on it, click "Properties" and set "Startup type" to "Disable ".

    Disable jusched.exe as a startup: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/what-is-juschedexe-and-why-is-it-running/

Restart computer and let me know if both errors are gone.

The Java messages stopped. The Networking Service messages have not.

Yes. I checked back after I restarted and the start-up type is still listed as Disabled. But I continue to get the message after logging in.

Go to Dell's site, download fresh wireless adapter driver, uninstall current one and install fresh one.

I don't know the exact name of the thing I should be looking to uninstall and then reinstall.

I went to Dell's website like you said, went to support for Drivers and Downloads, picked my model...then it asked me to select a category. I assumed 'Network', but I wasn't sure. Anyway, under Network, I got this:

I'm not really sure what to do with it...

    Go back to Device Manager.
What devices do you have listed in "Network adapters" section?
    I need exact names.

You need to download second driver from your screenshot.

Yes, I apologize, I was away from my laptop for a few days.

I downloaded the Dell Driver Download Manager (I assumed it was necessary, after reading the support page) and installed it. I also added the driver to my "Download List ", again, per suggestion of the support page.

The above screen is where I'm having my troubles. Whenever I choose "Download ", it keeps bringing up the Dell Driver Download Manager for me to download. And when I try to open up that application, I get an error message saying, 'There are no files to download. Please go to Drivers and Downloads to select files.'

I just can't seem to get the driver itself onto my computer.
