IE flashes on screen but won't load

    Hi,
    I'm running XP SP3 and I am not able to load IE8, I can load Firefox and Chrome with no problems but even after removing and reloading IE8 I still get a momentary flash on the screen and nothing else when I run the .exe file.
    Any constructive suggestions would be appreciated.
