This may well belong in the hardware section but I thought I'd try posting it here.

Equipment: Dell Inspiron 560 w/ 4 Gig of RAM 2.80 Gigahertz processors.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, SP 1.
    Printer: HP L7680

My wife suddenly lost the ability to print from her PC to our networked HP L7680. She would click "Print" from wherever & the document would show up in the print queue but nothing ever came out on the printer. A check from my machine demonstrated that there was nothing wrong w/ the printer.

I uninstalled the L7600 & downloaded a fresh copy of the installation software for this model from the HP site.

I went through the installation steps but got the message "0x00000002 - Unable to load the printer driver ".

I went thru the steps several times including reboots but got the same result on every instance. The system will detect the L7680 on our home network but cannot seem to load/install the driver.

Today, we had a "fix" installer pushed to us from HP (I guess this thing phoned home). The fix was designed - or so the message said - to resolve problems in Win 7 w/ disappearing HP printers which pretty much describes our original situation.

We ran the HP fix & still got the 0x00000002 message.

    Any suggestions, hints, tips, etc?

    No Joy

I tried Arie's suggestion but got the same message as before. After that, I did a complete un-install/re-install cycle with no success.:(
