    Hello Experts

I wanted to restore some registries that I backed up earlier , and I ended into this windows booting issue.

Now when I start my pc I see a white line at the bottom of the screen that says windows is loading files , then it goes to the start up repair thing ... after searching it says no problem was found . I read all the results and found that none of the process has failed. but it says that the repair thing couldn't discover the issue.

I went into all the System restoring options ,
    the 1st is not repairing
the 2nd says that I haven't made a restore point
the 3rd wants to restore the whole thing and I need my programs and data , also I still think its a simple problem because I get no error messages or blue screen , everything is working smoothly except the normal windows booting.
the 4th is about memory checking.
the 5th is My only hope which is the M-DOS access

Where ever I read a " start up failure " complaint or solution , It never describes the same Case im dealing with.

most of them mentions a messing file or some clear error message , but my problem has non of that.

Whats killing me is that after the system startup repair tool finishes the search , it says that It cannot figure whats wrong to fix .

How can I let it find the problem or how can I find the issue manually.

The main reason that led to all this and made me restore the registry is that there was three types of files that cannot be read by my computer , one of them was .BAT and another type with an M but i forgot the three letters.

one last thing , I cannot run the safe mode I dont know why.

If you think you need to restore a previous version of the registry, look it up at the Microsoft Knowledgebase website. You know where your registry backups are saved?

Old versions of the registry might not work with your current system, that is why you could be getting errors.

No i dont know where the registries are , cuz I used a program called vista manager and they were listed in there.

when I wrote regedit in the M-DOS and then explored my folders , I see my stuff in there but the thing I really need is that tiny link of information to connect the win boot process to my win log in to desktop , or things are messed up more than I imagine ?

    I really wish to know

    Hi,
Clear one thing for me:- Can you log into windows ?
And if you have your original windows cd, you should use it to get to the repair console.

No I cannot log in , and I dont have a cd .

so all those recovery options and M-DOS entry wont help at all ?

Clear one thing for me:- Can you log into windows ?
    -------------------------------

((( here is exactly what happens just by one push on the power button )))

When I turn on my pc , It boots up normally until I see that colored background that comes before my account logo to type my pass and enter my desktop as usual , but suddenly the screen turns black again with a loading white line
( something about loading windows files )
I keep waiting until a system start up repair keeps searching
then I end with a message about sending or not sending this problem to microsoft.com

    Reason ...

Enable to locate the problem to repair the startup failure.

Here is what you can try :-

    1. Reach the command prompt and do this :-

2.When you reach the command line ,type the following command and then press Enter.

    bootcfg /rebuild

3.The bootcfg utility will scan your hard drives for any Windows installations and then display the results. Follow the remaining steps to add your Windows installation to the boot.ini file.

4.The first prompt asks Add installation to boot list? (Yes/No/All).

Type Y in response to this question and press Enter.

5.The next prompt asks you to Enter Load Identifier:.

This is the name of the operating system. For example, type Windows Vista Ultimate or Windows Vista Home Edition and press Enter.

    6. The final prompt asks you to Enter OS Load options:.

Type /Fastdetect here and press Enter.

7.Then press Enter to restart your PC.

Assuming that a missing or corrupt boot.ini file was your only issue, Windows should now start normally.
