I've permanently deleted my Outlook 2010 data files, so I've lost all my past 3 months' mail and calendar events. Plus I cannot send or receive mail through Outlook. When I check the account, Microsoft sends me a test message, but, like other messages, I can only access it on the Comcast website or on my iPhone.

Does anyone know of any way to solve this problem? The reason I have old mail and old calendar events is because this is a new computer. Somehow it kept the stuff that was there on the old computer.

Shall I just remove the account and add another back and forget the lost items?

Need to merge duplicate Outlook 2010 accounts

I got my current Outlook data files back, but now I have duplicate Outlook accounts and need to merge them. One has current mail and calendar events. The other (same email address) has older mail and calendar events.
Anyone know how to merge them?

Two identical email accounts but different data

Thank you, QuickLearner (love your name), but I'm not sure I was clear about my problem, because I daren't delete the items. It's not really a case of "duplicates," per se. There are actually two data files. One has my current mail and calendar events. The other has mail and calendar events from prior to three months ago when I bought this new computer and set up Outlook 2010. I need to merge them, somehow.

P.S. I'm still not being clear. You know in Outlook 2010 over on the left side where it shows your email account and under that there are several folders of Inbox, Sent, Junk Mail, etc? Well, I have two accounts there, both with the exact same name. One includes my current mail and current calendar. The other has no current mail and no current calendar, but it has everything I had three months ago before I bought the new computer. What I need to do is merge those two accounts, and I'd appreciate whatever advice people can offer. Thanks for your patience as I tried to explain this.

Click Here to open a page with instructions for merging Outlook calendars. The instructions start about halfway down the page.

For the messages, have you tried copying the contents of each folder of the older account into the corresponding folder of the newer account?

    Thank you, Miz

Ta-da! Why didn't I think of that? Thank you, Miz. Problem solved. My mail is all sorted properly now. I lost my calendar in the process, but I'll sync my iPhone, and that should solve that problem, too. Thank you very much.

Lost my Outlook 2010 calendar now

    Problem:
I have two Outlook 2010 data files for the same email account:
    Name@ISP.net (1) and Name@ISP.net (2)
    (1) has my mail on it and a blank calendar.
    (2) has no mail (because I moved it all to 1) and my three proper calendars.
    Questions:
How do I move the calendars from (2) to (1)?
But that might leave me with 4 calendars, including one blank one.
How do I get rid of the blank one?
And then will I be able to delete Name@ISP.net (2) completely?

Thanks to everyone who responded to my call for help, I have got my Outlook files straightened back out now. I do have one last problem, and that's the junk mail options. It works with a data file I'm not using because all my calendar and mail stuff is on another one. I'd really like the junk mail option to work, but I'm afraid now to mess with those data files after all the trouble I caused myself. Anyone got any ideas?

Still having Outlook 2010 data file problems

I still can't get the Junk Mail option to work right, and it's because I have two data files active. I can hide one, but that doesn't solve the problem. I can't delete one because the calendar and the contacts are duplicated on both. When I delete the superfluous data file, I lose the calendar - and the contacts - on the data file that I need to keep.

Miz, I tried the Merge instructions you sent. The first instruction is to go to Import/export under File, and I don't see that under File or anywhere else.

Granted, this is not a huge problem, but I get 20-30 pieces of spam every day, and the Junk Mail Safe option worked before I ******* everything up. I'd really like it to work, again. I'd appreciate some more suggestions.

More suggestions re Junk Mail in Outlook 2010, pls.

Yes, I did copy the message, as Miz suggested, and that solved that part of the problem. Thank you, Miz.::)

Click on File, then on Open and another menu should display with Import as one of the options. Clicking that opens a window titled Import and Export Wizard...or it should. :)

    Thank you, Miz, but . . .

OK, Miz, I found Import/export, but when I try that, it sends me to my documents folder. From there I could go to Outlook but that would just take me to the data files. Importing another one of these would just add another data file to my Outlook program, right? I'm not sure I want to do that.
Any other suggestions? Or further explanation?

I give up, but thank you

OK, I must be hopeless at this. Now I have multiple copies of calendar, so no events show unless I go to each day. I'll call Microsoft and pay them to fix this mess I've caused. Thank you, everybody for trying to help.

Microsoft solved my problem quickly. They charged me, but it was worth it. Thank you, everybody.
