I've lost a document although I remember moving it around quite a bit while I working. Does Word 2010 have an Auto Recovery feature? If so, how do I access it?

    I need help fast!

Unfortunately, neither SEARCH nor FILE-RECENT helps. I'm afraid it's gone forever. But thanks anyway.

BUT!!! I picked up a pile of scrap paper and the document was there in the middle, cut in two, but still perfectly usable!!!

I'd still like to know more about Auto Recovery, though.

Auto recovery is used when your office application shuts down unexpectedly (eg it crashes or the computer loses power). It kicks in automatically when you restart the application (hence the name auto ;)) and can't be manually started.

The jist is if office finds a temporary document when you start it up it offers to recover the document.

See: How Word creates and recovers the AutoRecover files for more information.
