I used Google for years - no problem. About 10 months ago I switched to Google Chrome and that's when I started experiencing difficulties which I put down to Chrome and/or my switch at that time to BT broadband which includes email (see my thread "Multiple ISPs for email ")
Now, if I wish to do a Chrome search I have no problem as long as I go to Chrome direct. But if a link in an email message, a shopping site (eg Amazon) or other web site (eg Wikipedia) requires "transfer" to a Google Chrome site then 9 times out of 10 I get a Chrome error message asking me to kill the request or wait. Usually I click "wait" and again 9 times out of 10 I get through. But who needs this time-consuming hassle.
Has anyone had a similar experience or offer any suggestions

Google Chrome is my default browser. Somehow (I must have been sleeping) I made Chrome my default when prior to that Firefox was my default browser which gave me no problems at all. But so many of my systems etc seem to be tied to Chrome that I am afraid to uninstall it without expert advice in case it messes up all of my settings. I still retain Firefox which I use sometimes - it's slower but more reliable. Chrome is faster and has some better features so it's a pity it's giving me grief.

I still have IE too which came originally with Windows. I would like to uninstall this too but it's integrated (supports) with my "new" BT Yahoo mail software. This may be the/or one of the causes of my linking problems

Incidentally Windows BBS notified me of your message via email but once again the link therein didn't work so I had to take a different route to find you. Another interesting point: even when I use Firefox it sometimes seems to change into Chrome - I cannot really describe this at present but if it happens again I'll try to remember exactly what happened and tell you - that is if you are then still interested

Thanks so much for coming back so quickly. I really appreciate it (incidentally, where are you in the USA?)
