I'm running Win XP on an old laptop. The Favorites Bar had "web slices" but when I clicked it to subscribe it turned into "upgrade your browser ". I've been running IE8 (latest version) and it's my understanding that IE9 won't install on Win XP. I checked under Tools, Manage Add Ons and under Add-on types web slices is gone. I have toolbars and extension, search providers, in-private browsing and accelerators. How do I add Web slices back to this section?.

When I try to add a web slice using the web slice icon (located on the right side next to the Home, Email and Printer icons), I get an error saying "web slice exists ".

IE8 is the only browser that supports this stuff (never knew it existed), and there's a lot that can break it.

I can only suggest you look at web slices not working.

Like I said, I never used it, will never use it, so won't be able to help.

Maybe there are others using IE8 that have an idea.

Thanks Arie. I'll leave this thread open for a few more days to see of someone else has anything to offer regarding this issue.

I've marked this thread solved as it's not that big a deal for me to use web slices.
