    Dear All,

Please could you help me with an issue that I have with Widows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Previously I used Windows XP. In Windows XP whilst using windows explorer there was an option in Tools - Folder Options - View called Remember each folder's view settings.

This option in Windows 7 appears to no longer exist. Is this correct? or is there another way to perform the same function?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Kolja Marasović :p

In Windows Explorer click on the ORGANIZE Button - then go to LAYOUT and select "Menu Bar. "

    Dear Steve,

Thank you for your suggestion, but I already can open the tools in the menu bar.

What I am looking for used to be in the folder options in tools, previously it was called "Remember each folder's view settings "

It appears that this does not exist anymore in Windows 7??????

    Thanks again

    K

This is what's called a bummer. I just moved from ME (because of no online security), and was about to ask the same question. This isn't the only thing I'm missing since the move.

Kingman, a lot of things have change since September 2000!

    ME > XP > Vista > Windows 7

Migrating from Microsoft's universally acclaimed worst ever operating system, to what I wholeheartedly believe is their best ever operating system, I'd recommend you take the hit on the "Remember each folder's view settings" in return for the myriad of improvements! ;)

This may not be exactly what you want but it's the closest I know of to "Remember each folder's view settings "...if you're wanting all folders' view the same, that is.

If you change settings on any folder in a Library, either through the "Arrange by" drop-down list or the "Change your view" drop-down list, it will change all the folders in the Library to the same settings.

Andy: Improvements or disprovements are a matter of opinion. ME lets me see everything that passes through the Temporary Internet File. W7 shows only some things. Except it shows other some things now and then. And the function to search the computer for a character string is gone, or so different that I haven't found it yet.
Miz: Changing all the folders to one size is exactly what I don't want. I want each folder to open to its own size. (Ten years of ME is a hard habit to break.)
I also want a better chair for this desk. I might be able to accomplish that.

Take a look at XdN Tweaker.

It looks like it might do what you're wanting to do.

It doesn't look quite right, and I'm wary about downloading more stuff into my toy. But thanks for the thought.
