You definitely have to get Windows authorized.
    Be patient there.

In your open Control Panel instructions you have this line:

If it works go ahead and *rule both for automatic run* when window starts.?? Not sure I understand how to do that.

Also, if I understand all your instructions you're saying this should free me from having to run this Genuine Microsoft Software validation page I've got running even now?

Forget Control Panel issue for now.
    Windows validation is more important.
If it seems to be stuck, restart the process.

I found both SL UInotify service & Software Licensing service. I clicked Disable on both (I assume that's what you meant by stopping them). Then I clicked on *Manual* rather that Automatic and clicked restart on both and Services shows them both as running. Don't know doing it the way I describe is proper and what you meant. BUT I did that but still can't open Control Panel. NOW I did not close out services.msc but left it open while I tried unsuccessfully to open Control Panel. Does leaving services.msc open make a difference? That is, should I close services.msc and THEN try opening Control Panel?

I just read this note: Forget Control Panel issue for now.
    Windows validation is more important.
If it seems to be stuck, restart the process. ??? How to restart it? I still have the Windows validation page open. Going back to that page should I try clicking "Reload Current Page" or what?

It just occurs to me that I am running this "Windows Validation Page" in Firefox browser. Microsoft might not like such a _disloyal insult_. Maybe I should try loading that Validation page in Internet Explorer...? I'm running IE version 8.

I just tried loading the Windows Validation Page in Internet Explorer and it seems to have worked there where it would not in this Firefox browser. going through Internet Explorer I got this validation acknowledgment: "Welcome to Windows!
Because Windows installed on your PC is genuine, enjoy the security, reliability and protection it provides. "

    Good job on that :)

No. This is not what instructions say.
Right click on each of those two services, click "Stop ".
Now, right click on both services again and click "Start ".
    Start Software Licensing service first.

Yes still with you. I will get the "SL UInotify service & Software Licensing service" instructions done properly this evening.

RE: SL UI notify service & Software Licensing service.

Tried doing a you stated. Results confusing, looked like won't go as instructed. SL UI notify service right-click Stop showed as grayed out (now recall as to why I didn't do that as before instructed) When I instead clicked Start which was not grayed out got this message: Sl Ui notification service on local computer started and stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

Right-clicking on Software Licensing service showed it as already started.

Computer seems working OK otherwise. Any further suggestions?

    At this point....

In this forum, we make sure, your computer is free of malware and your computer is clean :)
Because the access to malware forum is very limited, your best option is to create new topic about your current issue, at Windows section.
    You'll get more attention.

    Good luck!
