I have a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5082 Windows 7 laptop that i installed XP Pro on. Got all the drivers working but the Hotkeys don't respond. Can't adjust the brightness, turn the wireless on or off and the volume. What do i need to get the hotkeys working ?

    Thanks

BTW..Please don't flame me about why would i want XP instead of W7. Its the wifes laptop and she's more comfortable with XP, so i threw in a spare HD and tried to make it work ;)

You must be missing some Drivers still. Are there any Exclamation marks in Device Manager? Neil.

Normally computers which ship with Win 7 don't have WinXP drivers available. So you can't find the driver from the computer manufacturer. Try to find it on google, but tread with caution.

I don't think its a driver issue. Device manager has no exclamation points, looks the way it should. I think there is a Toshiba program that controls the hotkeys that im missing.

Hi Joey, as rsinfo has suggested, the Toshiba boys may have a patch relating to Hotkeys for XP. I know HP/Compaq have various patches that can be applied and are sometimes in a BIOS update. Neil.

    i.e. a driver ;)

It'll most likely be a keyboard driver, but since XP will have selected a standard keyboard driver, there will be no exclamation point in device manager.

Toshiba may not have a driver for you to use.

    Hi Joey,

If your Tosh is anything like my C660 then you'll need KeNotify, google suggests their is an XP version available but unfortunately I don't have time right now to track it down right now.

Perhaps checking Toshiba's website may help? If not I'll post back tomorrow with my findings.

Well I don't think anybody can help you out on that. You should talk to Toshiba directly.
