No need to touch the registry unless you have a problem.

Do you have a problem? If so please give more details.

No problem as of now. Just curious "Why" the entries are still in Registry if IE5 has been removed or updated?

Thank you for your fast reply but doesn't answer my question if they can be removed or why they "Must" stay.

    OK Let's broaden your question...

Why you should not mess with the registry.

    1) It could kill your computer
    2) There is minuscule benefit in doing so (we are talking the beat of a hummingbirds wing)

Now, please give your reasons for editing the registry?

If I understand you correctly "Once in Registry a entry, probably not need or used could (should) be left there unless there is "Trouble ". So how would you know which enties in Registry are causing the problem.

Or do you do a complete re-imstall?

Again my thanks for your fast reply.

Exactly, removing what appears to be unneeded entries can cause a lot of problems without any noticeable benefit.

It's unlikely any entries (other than malware) will cause issues but when (if) they happen feel free to come back to the forum.

For now my advice is leave the registry alone. :)
