Dell inspiron mini 10 netbook error: Operating system not found

Hello you guys.

Sadly, I'm back again. I'm trying to reboot my Dell inspiron mini 10 netbook, and as it starts to boot up, there's a black screen with white lettering with different messages. One of them that I remember is: Operating System not found.

can anyone help me?

 

The message that the computer gives me is:

CPU=1 Processors detected
1014M System Ram Passed
System Bios Shadowed
Video Bios Shadowed
Fixed disk 0: ERROR
0200: Failure fixed disk 0

press <f1> to resume. (I did).

What I indicated in my previous post is part of what this new screen showed.

Media Test Failure, check cable.
Exiting PXE rom
Operating system not found
Exiting PXE rom

 

Is there any chance the netbook is still under warranty? If so I'd contact your retailer (if applicable, here in the UK your contract is with them) or DELL support.

 

It is not under warranty anymore.

 

Dell support may still supply some assistance but it does look like a hardware failure.

 

Thanks for the input. Althpough, it's not what I want to hear, at least I know what is wrong with it (somewhat at least).

I've tried booting it up with a flashdrive and it does not work.

 

Can anyone help solve this issue?

 

By the way, I ran the Dell Diagnostic Utility and the pre boot system assessment went on okay without any beeps. However, after the assessment, a message stating: "No diagnostic utility partition has been identified" came up. I will attempt again to boot from my flash drive. Also, I wanted to know if I should chance my boot sequence or boot order.

 

I'll refer you back to post #5, other than taking your netbook into a store Dell Support is your best option. Sorry.
