I have no desire to start an argument on this matter I am purely looking for some advice/info.

Having contracted a virus/trojan on my laptop recently I was advised to change all my passwords post cleaning.
This is, to say the least, a laborious task to undertake manually.
I have therefore started looking at password managers for future use.
The two mentioned in the thread title seem to be the most widely used.
I can see very little difference between them but would appreciate other peoples views.
I have read a previous post on the subject which seemed to suggest that the main difference was that LastPass stored your encrypted passwords remotely but Roboform didn't.
However when I looked at Roboform it seemed to have the option to store remotely if required.
    Have I got that right?
Any replies on pros and cons would be welcomed.

I would also be interested to know how the various browsers store passwords. Are they encrypted on the local machine?

    Regards
    Brian.

Browsers store passwords in cookies that normaly can't be read by humans.

The following might come in handy....

Thanks for the link but to be honest password checkers of this type are pretty limited.
For example If I you put your full name with caps on first letters and underscores instead of spaces it says it is "best" which it clearly isn't.

Choosing strong passwords is generally just common sense but with so many of them needed these days remembering them is the problem, so some form of password manager seems the way to go to hopefully defeat key logger trojans should you be unlucky enough to get one on your machine.

And hopefully the trojans are programed to look for common password manager applications;)

    Last Pass V RoboForm

I have used Roboform2Go (the USB drive version) for a few years now and I am happy with it.:)
