In the course of trying to upgrade Skype, one of my windows files was corrupted in the folder system32. It is "hal.dll.
I tried using HP recovery but it did not work. When I use the MS recovery I am able to get into the root directory but do not know what DOS commands to use to replace the file with a good one. My HP computer has a partition for recovery but I do not have a clue how to get something out of it.
Would there be an uncorrupted hal.dll file in the I386folder?
Can someone tell me what DOS commands to use to replace hal.dll with a good one?
    Thanks

Is there an easier way to solve this problem?
