There is a new Windows update every time I log on. If I log off after installing update and then log back on there is another update. I am also having problems with Microsoft Outlook, it is showing that it is receiving messages, very, very slowly, but none are appearing. It did this yesterday, then seemed to right itself, but I have not received any new emails all night tonight. Can you please help?

Hi Ameida, Welcome to Windows BBS :)
Do you know what KB the Update is?
Try going to Windows Update and Download manually and install in Safe Mode.
You get Safe Mode with Key F8 on Startup.
    Cheers Neil.

    Hi Neil,
thank you for replying. The update is .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5 SP1 on server 2003 and Windows XP x86 (KB 2446704)
I hope that I managed to get that down right as I couldn't copy and paste and it cleared quite quickly.
I will try using your suggestion of Safe Mode next time I start up and hopefully it might help.
If it does, I will come back here and let you know.
    Thanks
    Ameida.

It will help others to help you if you take the time to fill in your 'System Details'.
Click on User CP on top left of this page and scroll to respective areas and 'Save' at the bottom so that it will display on Thread screen.
I assume you're using XP (SP?) Home or Pro? Thanks Neil.
Here's a link as others have had this problem:http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...-2446704/82864c3c-5f71-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5

You may have to uninstall .NET completely and reinstall one by one and as shown in the link in a certain order. Hope this helps. Neil.

Sorry to have been so long in responding but my computer crashed and it couldn't be rescued. It had to be totally wiped and I am still in the process of trying to recover my data. Thank you for trying to help.
