I want to download the actual video file of a Congressional hearing entitled "EPA Mining Policies: Assault on Appalachian Jobs ". There's a link on the relevant web page to a .WVX file, and clicking on it starts the video. Since I have no idea how long the hearing lasted, it would be convenient if I could download the video and view it as time allows. The URL that the link leads to is:

    http://transportation.edgeboss.net/wmedia/transportation/20110511wr.wvx

Does anybody know how I can download the actual video file that this .WVX file leads to?

Google 'How to download wvx file.'
Seems to be a lot of responses.
Also file runs just short of 2hrs 44 minutes.

Save the wxv and open it in Notepad.
The url to the wmv video will be there. It uses the mms:// protocol.
But you'll need a stream ripper program to capture the video.
