    Greetings,

    Wishing all a pleasand holiday.

I am using an MS word 2000 table and need to number the text in outline form. Ordinarily one simply tabs a new numbered line inorder to indent it as a subordinated text.

In a table however, hitting the tab key sends the cursor to another cell in the table.

how can I keep the cursor indented in the cell that i am working in?

Seeker: Use Ctrl+Tab to tab within a table cell. As you noted TAB by itself moves to a new cell.:)

    From Word 2000 help:

Insert a tab in a table cell
    Press CTRL+TAB.

    John,

This certainly allows ordinary tabing. Pardon me, I was not clear.

I am trying to place a document in outline form with automatic numbering and sub numbering.

This is easily done on a plain Word page. What I am trying to do however, is to use outline bullets or numbering within a cell of a table. :(

What are your thoughts on this
    Thanks

I now understand what you want to do. I tried and like you couldn't get outline to work within a cell. Wants to treat each row as unit. Sorry can't help you with this one. Anyone else??
