Windows 7 Starter. Toshiba NB300-108 Mini Notebook. 2GB RAM. Used IE versions before with no problems, but, tried IE9 Beta, IE9 RC, IE9 Final Release and even uninstalled and re-installed via Windows Updates but following right hand click all new tabs are blank and a new window request does nothing at all. Originally on IE9 feedback programme but MS closed my post as they "couldn't replicate the problem! ". Hopefully the answer lies here on WindowsBBS! Tks. Nick.

Hi Steve. right mouse click on any link on any webpage, then left mouse click on "open in a new tab" (Blank), or "open in a new window" (nothing happens at all). tks for helping.

First step would be to run IE without any Add-ons (Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons))

Hi. Tks for the reply and suggestion. I tried IE9 (without add-ons) but right clicking on any link for a new tab just opens an empty tab and a new window request does nothing. Back to square one.

Good chance you have some old files around. Your best choice would probably a clean install of Windows 7.

That's the chance you take testing beta software.

There must be lots and lots of people that have used the Beta, RC and Final Release and don't have this problem. I have even removed IE9 completely and even installed via Windows Updates. Thanks for the advice but for such a drastic step via my recovery partition and the following hours spent with the updates etc, etc, etc I'll stay with Google Chrome, or Opera or Avant etc - they ALL work without any problems at all. Tks anyway. Regards.

Well, as you see, you have done all the things that could possibly fix it. There's nothing else to try IMHO.

If in the beta process you forgot once to unistall before upgrading you can be left with stuff like this. Then again, maybe you have some other software that had an effect on one of IE's files, no way of knowing.
