I just bought a new computer running Win7 as OS. My old PC was Win XP.

I have a website where I post family, travel pictures etc. and with XP it was simple, right click on photo in My Documents and up came a dialog box listing sites where photos could be sent and newsites could be added,as I did to put my site on the list. The process was simple from that point on.

I cannot find a way to do the same thing with Win 7 as Pictures folders fall under a Library item along with Documents.

    Any ideas out there guys?

You can use FTP/Internet Explorer to upload files to your Website.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP): frequently asked questions

A more permanent method is to map a network drive.
    Open My Computer >
    Map Network Drive >
checkmark Reconnect at logon & Connect using different credentials >
Connect to a Website that you can use to store your documents & pictures >
enter Website FTP address & credentials >
    follow prompts.

Afterwards, you should be able to right click a file a select Send to.

Just as a FYI, that's not a default in Windows XP, you'll have to have done something similar to what Tony posted to get those options.

Or your camera software installed a program that added that option to the context menu.

    Orb (Start)

MS finally got the message that start to shutdown wasn't the best idea they had, but if you're used to 9x/xp it's in the same place (and unfortunately still shows start as a hint :()

I finally came to realize that, since I will be moving to another state in a few months (September) I can't take FTP any further until I get a new ISP.

At least I think that is how I am understanding the instructions. Stay tuned, in the meantime I am looking for other methods.

To find "Map Network Drive ":
On the bar across the bottom of the screen, which is the Taskbar, at the left-hand end is a circle with the Windows logo. That's the Orb. It functions just like the Start button in XP.

Click on that orb to open the Start Menu. The menu will open with two panes. In the right-hand pane is "Computer." Click on Computer with the right hand mouse button and in the menu that opens, left click Map Network Drive.

    After that, follow TonyT's instructions.

As Arie and TonyT said, the "upload to website" function on your other computer is not something that Windows comes with. It must have been added by some software you installed. Perhaps a camera, maybe a printer, maybe something else. If you can remember what it was, you might be able to install in on your current computer.

Glad you found it. Sometimes you have to lead a horse a couple of times to water to get him to drink. LOL :D

We have all been there and done that more than once. Probably do it again.
