Resolved link URL not highlighted [Windows Live Mail 2011]

I have windows 7 64 bit , explorer 8, and windows live mail 2011

When I want to send a link of a web page by clicking on "send link by by email" or right clicking webpage and clicking "email with windows live "
the url in the email is not highlighted blue so the recipient has to copy and paste to open it--this didn't happen under my previous windows live mail.

I tried sending via gmail, hotmail firefox etc but the same issue occurred

I can however send a page by clicking "send page by email "

**While I am surprised that nobody had an answer to the above, I discovered that the URL webpage became highlighted in purple (not blue) when I typed in text on my email! Although the recipient could not click and open the purple highlighted hyperlink directly, by double clicking it the drop down menu had "open hyperlink" on it which opened the website. Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

I have come across this before and the solution, albeit not completely satisfactory, is to type a space (or press Enter) after pasting the link.

 

thanks burrwalnut --indeed by clicking a space after the url it highlights in purple--still don't know why I have to do this but at least it works!
