Hi all, I am in need of some answers to a question I can not find answers for.
I am presently shopping around for a new medium prized AM3 Motherboard.
There are several good boards about like the Gigabyte:
"GA880GA - UDH3" that has just about the measure of what I want, except one thing, only one PS/2 port, that on its own would normally be not of any big deal.
But in my case, I use a 4 port PS/2 KVM switch, and I just don't know if my Belkin KVM would work with USB at the PC and a PS/2 adapter on the KVM end.
I know of a fairly good AM3 board that has two PS/2 ports but only can run on DDR2 Ram, and I would like to make use of the DDR3 Ram that I already have.

    Any comments are welcome.

I actually have found a good ASUS board with all three, USB3, 2xPS/2 and DDR3 Support
    ASUS M4A87TD - EVO

    KVM switches can be flaky.
    PS2/USB adaptors can be flaky.

Mix the two together and duck and run...
On the other hand, it could work....but there is only one way to find out.

EDIT: you could use the one port of the keyboard and this machine could have its own mouse if the KVM doesn't work.

    Most probably not.

As Steve has already pointed out, try it or get a USB mouse for this computer.

thanks guys, some more googling has brought up a couple more hits, and the responses there confirm much the same as you have been saying.
So I will stick with with the ASUS board that has 2 x PS/2 ports.
