I recently got a different computer at work and the issue I am having is when I scroll up or down with the wheel on the mouse or use the page up or down the pages swipe every time I do it. Instead of just moving up or down as one continuous page its like its replacing the page with a new one, just moving it up or down to where I need it. It does this in excel, word, and most web pages.

The operating system is Windows XP

My IT person says there is nothing that can be done about it, but I have never seen this before on any computer I’ve used with a windows base program.

Does any one have any suggestions. I’ve looked at the mouse and keyboard settings and compared them to another computer in the office and I don’t see any difference.

    Thanks.

Hi, When the computer was changed, did you change keyboard and mouse?
Have you tried uninstall of mouse > Reboot and let Windows install again? Neil.

Look in the mouse applet in the control panel. Click on the wheel tab. In there, you can select how many lines you want it to scroll with each notch you scroll with the mouse wheel. There's also a line that says "one screen at a time ". Perhaps you have that selected?

    Edit:
OOPS! I see you've looked at the mouse settings. Sorry. But, I'll leave my post here just in case you somehow missed the wheel thing. :)

Just wondering whether it might help if you gave us the type of mouse - USB or PS2 and possibly the brand. Wireless or Optical?
There may have been Software provided with a brand type mouse which may need installing. Neil.
