This question is for my Mom who recently upgraded to XP and is using Outlook Express. She enjoys using the stationary that comes with OE however, with this new set up, when someone emails her with stationary, it comes as an attachment and she is unable to find out how to receive stationary as it is meant to be. Can anyone help please.

    Welcome to BBS,

Have her open OE > TOOLS > OPTIONS > READ > and untag the box labeled "Read all messages in plain text. "

You're welcome. Please caution your mother against opening mail from anyone she doesn't know. She should also have a good Anti-Virus program and keep it up to date with the latest signatures. Scanning mail prior to opening it is a good way to reduce the risk of infection from some executable file that triggers when the message is opened. Another good precautionary step is to disable the "Preview" window in OE. Open OE > VIEW > LAYOUT and untag the "Show Preview Pane" box. That will prevent messages from opening until you actually double click them.

Another excellent protective program is GoBack. I consider it an absolute necessity! With it, if you do happen to get infected, you can revert the entire drive to a point in the past when the infection hadn't occurred yet. It allows one to be somewhat lax in the other areas and protects against a multitude of other mis-steps.

    GoBack

    Cheers. :)

Thank you again Zephyr for your help. I did know about the "Preview Pane" danger and had instructed her regarding that. Thanks also for your recommendation of "Go Back" ....You have been a great help.
