Please help, on a HP Pavillion running XP 32bit the pc is not showing either dvd player or burner under My Computer. It does list them on the bios sceen and the Device Manager, However in device manager they show an exclaimation mark on both. The explaination says the drivers were loaded on boot but no hardware was found. I tried uninstalling both in device manager with the same results on reboot. I also disconnected one at a time in turn from power supply and data cable, No luck. Any suggestions?

Hi Mike, Go to Device Manager > Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > View - have you tried any of the options in there? (Show Hidden Devices) Neil.

I changed drives from another pc with the same result. I changed ribbon cables and moved to another plug on the M.B. all with the same result. Could it be the motherboard?
