Is anyone with Windows 7 64 using a flatbed scanner (that costs under $1000) that automatically scans to searchable PDF?

    Thank you.

I doubt than any scanner will scan automatically to .psd, but scan to psd should be an option.

Any pdf you produce by scanning should be searchable in Adobe Reader.

Just checked for you using a Canon Lide 35 on 7 Pro x64 - scanner is now obsolete, but cost, as I recall ~$50 :) and a scan to pdf is searchable.

I suggest you check the Epson website's Clearnance & refurbished pages, I bought a refurbished Perfection 4490 refurb scanner there some years ago & it's served me well w/both Windows Vista & 7. Very hi-res capability but haven't tried scanning automatically to psd.

It depends on the program you use to scan the document and format chosen for the scanned item. If it is first scanned as an image and then imported into a document (MS Word, WordPerfect, etc.) and then saved as a PDF, it is not searchable.

Also, if it is scanned as an image and then printed to PDF, it is not searchable.
