When loading the software for printer receive fatal error messages "unable to remove old version of Marketresearch. Anyone had these kind of problems and is there an easy fix. Currently considering clean sweep of hard drive:confused:

It sounds like you had a HP printer installed previously. Check if there are any listings for HP software in Add 0r Remove Programs and uninstall them.

Do you have the installation disk from the previous printer? If yes, try running it and see if it offers to uninstall/remove the software or install it again and then uninstall it. Check the User Manual that should be on the disk, it might have a separate "complete uninstaller ".

Try booting into Safe Mode and run the new installer there, then it may be able uninstall the old version of Marketresearch, but may not be able to complete the installation of the new printer.

From looking at the HP website, you have the choice of a Recommended installation or an Express installation. Choose Express.

Those are some of the options I would try. Is there a User Manual for the new printer? Check the installation CD with Windows Explorer.

Mattman thank you for your response. I went into safe mode and cleared all HP files, rebooted and completed a customised install of HP software, opting not to install photo essential. Software ran its full course and after re boot works perfectly. Thank you.
