trying to fix my compaq presario

    Hi I am trying to fix my computer and I got it all the way almost except I get the screen saying the file NT5INF.CAT on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 CD is needed.Does anyone know where I can get this from easy or help me with how to get it?

    Hi, when you say you're trying to fix your PC, what was your original problem?
    The file you want is in \i386 on your installation XP CD.

    Do you have your XP Pro CD? Neil.

    It wouldnt start and pretty much crashed.i dont have that CD it was used but needed SP1 which i could never find to get one and now I have Windows XP OP CD

    While it was operational, did you ever update to SP3?
    There is no support for SP2 and if you were using your comp with SP1:eek:
    Have you tried to use your XP CD for a Repair? Neil.
