When I try to do a "Save As" in Microsoft Word 2007 in a computer running Windows XP Pro; when I try to drop down the box to pick a folder to save in, I get the message that "the folder view can not be displayed." It will only let me save the file in the present folder. I can not go to another folder to save my file.

Yes the user is an Administrator in Windows XP. The problem goes away for a while if the computer is re-booted, but later the problem returns.

Run chkdsk to check for logical disk problems.

Could also be spyware. Check thoroughly with anti virus/malware and/or post in Malware Removal Forum on this site.
