    Hi all,

Is TFC-Cleaner better or more thorough than ATF-Cleaner? I like ATF because it cleans the history, cookies, etc., and doesn't require a reboot; whereas TFC doesn't and requires a reboot. I've read that TFC is "supposed" to be better, but, that means more clicks to delete the history, cookies, etc.

    Is TFC, or ATF better?

    Opinions?

Hi jpChris. I have used both programs and to be honest I can't give you a definitive answer because they remove different files. So neither one is better. I would run both of them since they both will delete files that the other one may have missed.

    Hi Evan,

Thanks. I suppose having a third temp file cleaner (I also have SmartCleaner) wouldn't hurt, but I'm not too hip on having to reboot after a clean, though.

Oh, well, I'll try it for a while and see.

Chris, chances are any decent temp file remover will have to reboot if it's doing it's job properly, it's a fact of life, get used to it.

Mr. B. are you stalking me? LOL
CCleaner is also nice enough to list in detail each restore point, allowing one to kill them at random...

@ wildfire: Hey, dude! S'up? :D I don't reboot when I use ATF-C and I don't remember reading anything about having to do so. I always clean my trash, cache, cookies, temp, etc., before I shutdown at night: So maybe that would be considered rebooting???

@ broni: Wow! I've been using SmartCleaner since 2001 and I've never been to the site. I think I downloaded it from TUCOWS back then [yup, it's still being offered and has a rating of 4 cows out of 5] and it was a trial version; however, when the 30 "trial" is up, I right-click and click Repair and I'm good for another 30 days. I had no idea the site had such a poor reputation. The program works good, though. I do use CCleaner from time to time for the MRU's etc., and the registry is pretty clean so there's no reason for me to fiddle with it unless I'm having a problem.

Tomorrow I'll do the ATF-C and then run CCleaner and see if it picks up anything. I'll let you know.
