    Hi,
I am replacing a Power Supply in a Small Form Factor Dell Optiplex:
I cannot remove the hard drive power cable connector from the drive.
Are needle nose pliers okay to use? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

Hi tanya. Before using any plliers to remove the power cable from the harddrive try grasping the cable by the left and right sides and see if jiggling it from side to side will losen the connection. I find this method works well and has always helped me remove stubborn cable connections.

If that doesn't work then you can try using the plliers but don't try and force the connector out of the drive otherwise you can risk damaging the harddrive molex connector.

you may use that however make sure you do not break anything and as said above remove your power connection.

They get tight sometimes, don't they?

Before using tools, I would consider trying to get the hard drive out of the bay so that I could pull in opposite directions.

    With Matt and Evan here,

Avoid using tools, gently rock back and forth applying pulling pressure. Be careful if doing this inside the case you could give your hand a bit of a knock when the molex connector finally comes loose.

Thank you: Evan, Jaydeee, Mattman and Wildfire!
I managed to remove them (with very little effort) by very gently rocking them vertically (really gently). Side-to-side had not worked! Vertically did the trick!
So, I did not need the pliers!
Thanks again for all the replies!
