Hi artrussell. You could go back to Windows XP but you have to make sure that there are drivers available for your hardware devices. Otherwise your computer won't work properly.

Windows XP does generally run a bit faster than Windows 7 but Windows XP is starting to lose support so it all depends on what you use your computer for.

No, you will be better off starting to learn Windows 7.

Windows XP will only be supported for a few more years, and an increasing number of software/hardware will not be compatible with it.

No for me too... windows xp is great however we need to upgrade to keep up with the technology and windows 7 is way better than XP IMO.

I would stay with win 7 and learn it if you have a lot of software installed. Otherwise XP was a better organized program just as word 2003 was much better organized and structured than word 07-10 are. You might try a Linux distro too. I like windows because one could get behind it and fix things. With the advent of the windows registry all that was destroyed. Windows with registry (win 98 on) are prettier and use way more computing power for very little actual performance improvement. You can't get behind modern windows so why not get a MAC? Or go Linux?
