Click on a Picture and it opens or not

I tried System Restore again, for the 6th time, and it did not finish again. I have used Restore Points from February. I have not found any from January.

 

Yesterday I blew away the operating system and started with the original Windows 7. So far I can click a BMP and JPG and they will open with one click. Click a Shortcut and it opens fast. I have added 3 Partitions. X is Applications. Y is Pictures. Z is Backups. These were Backups that I brought up. Each time that I make a change I check to be sure it does not put me back where I was. All of this takes a lot of time, so it will mean that I will be awhile.
