ie 8 problems

I keep having a problem with IE8, where when started, it some times just opens up with a blank page. I am running Vista Home edition 64 bit. When i looked into this further, i found that i have both IE8 32 bit and IE8 64 bit installed . The system is currently running the 32 bit version of IE8. So i tried to run the 64 bit version, and it open , but says it cannot display the web page. I run the diagnose problem, and i get a message that there is no problem with the internet connection. So i have hit a brick wall, any suggestions please.

With the 32 bit version, i have changed home page, and all is the same. This is an intermittent problem. I also have an intermittent problem when i try to open IE8 from a link in emails or web pages. We just get a black page. With the 64 bit version, i tried changing home page, and get the same result, "cannot display this page ". I love theory, it's just that some times it does not want to speak to the real world !!

 

Steve, now neither version of IE8 will run correctly, both show, will not display this website. I have tried disabling non microsoft services, still the same, and disabling all start-ups, and still the same. But they will start in safe mode. Hope this may give u some idea of what the problem may be.
