Resolved My links don't link!

Just installed Windows 7 Home Premium UPGRADE from VISTA Home Premium. Now the links don't work. Example: In the new 'Start Menu' The very top item is "Getting Started" which takes you to a sub menu, there the first item is "Discover Windows 7 "... I click on that and a new window opens, but there is nothing at all in the address bar, it says is connecting but that cannot be the case as there is no url there! What do I do to remedy this? It is not just this one link, every link I have tried to click gets the 'blank address'...

Yes, I can get on the internet just fine. I just don't understand how the url fails to show up when clicking on a link. Other than the link's new page not getting the needed address everything works as it should.

OK, never did come up with a reason for the non functioning hyperlinks, but I did try to uninstall and reinstall IE8 a couple of times, still no good... took the leap to IE9 beta and voila, the hyperlinks are functioning... just an FYI.
