    ** 3 = E for this post. (It's just 3asi3r....confusing y3s, but 3asi3r)

    I hav3 a slight dil3mma. My D3sktop k3yboard l3tt3r "E" som3how got jinx3d so to sp3ak.

    I typ3 "E" and g3t th3 l3tt3r "I ".
I.E.: "I cant figuri out thi problim hiri. "

    So for th3 tim3 b3ing, until I figur3 out how to r3v3rs3 it, (unl3ss it's a us3r/password combo) I'm substituting th3 l3tt3r "E" with "3" inst3ad of always using th3 OSK prog.

    Th3 OSK prog, btw, typ3s NORMALLY. So if that's th3 cas3, it can't b3 a virus can it? It's only b33n doing this for th3 past w33k or so. It's (so far and hop3fully) th3 only k3y I'm having troubl3 with. I'v3 h3ard sugg3stions of a k3y-r3mapping, and k3yboard cl3aning. I'v3 tri3d to uninstall and r3install th3 driv3r and nothing work3d. I'm gonna try a diff3r3nt tactic around that, though.

    Any thoughts?

    THANK YOU!! :D

Borrow rather than buy. It will take all of 10 secs to find out if the keyboard is faulty.

(OSK) There's nothing i can do to try and reverse the effect? why did it switch letters like that?

(also, the key letter "I" does type normally - itself, the 2 letters weren't switched)

    Lucky resolve! ^.^

So I tried to replace this keyboard with another more primitive model, and much to my dismay found out the connector "plug" was gigantic compared to the round "modern" keyboard port my 10 year old computer has. But surprisingly, I unhooked this one, and figured since I've already done that, then just restart it, plug it back in, and see what happens. Did that, then went into the Device Manager, and just for good measure, uninstalled the keyboard driver (which reappeared when the current malfunctionaing keyboard got plugged back in), AND the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers while I was in there (my computer was getting slow again). Rebooted....Computer worked fine, AND my keyboard went back to normal. No idea what got bugged, but it's all goood now! and No NEED to buy another one. Happy Camper! ^_,^

Thank YOU! (You can delete this thread if you want.)
