:confused:When I called on my clients I told them that software does not break without somebody touching it. However, I must stand corrected. Just by sitting down at the keyboard and staring mindlessly I CAN make software break.

What I did or how I did it I don't know. While interfering with the laws of nature, as set by Tom Watson and Bill Gates, I caused my deleted E-mail to disappear. The Deleted Folder is there and shows over 3300 pieces of mail in the folder. When I open the folder it is completely empty. When I create a piece of mail I can track it. I can see when I sent it, when I received it, but when I delete it the E-mail leaves no trace of itself. But, the count of deleted E-mail items goes up by one.

If one of you Whiz Kids can set me on the path to correctly working software, once again, I promise to keep my fingers to myself for at least a fortnight.

    Thank you

Is this a home pc or part of an exchange server system?

Might try highlighting the Deleted Folder and look through the "view" options...

Items that are deleted from a shared mailbox go to the wrong folder in Outlook

Steve, I selected the Deleted Folder > View option > Expand/Collapse Groups > Expand Selected Groups, and another computer miracle occurs. All 3384 deleted E-mails appeared!

    Thanks Steve
